Coming soon to a Craigslist near me: one cosmetically challenged but mechanically sound Subaru Forester.

Except yours has 4 WD and is a pre-2011 because there’s Toyota lettering on the back.

Who in the family drives it? It bothers me when sites like Edmunds don’t include these super minor changes in the “what’s new” for each model year. For instance, in the 2008 Rogue, the odometer is orange with black digits, while 2009 and 2010 Rogues have a black odometer with orange digits.

Clearing the way for a questionable but exciting new member?

If Jr. ends up taking the Volvo to school with him full-time, there would be space...

You need a Saab to round things out.

Or that Alfa I posted a while ago. There’s a distinct and uncharacteristic
lack of
leaky ‘80s design
.

Technically, three of the cars are in my front yard/driveway and two are parallel parked on the street out front...but the street is a dead end.

I may have to disagree with you there, sir, from experience. I’m sorry.

4runner vs RAV4 V6 as a daily driver/occasional track car tow vehicle: go!
![]() 07/16/2018 at 11:24 |
|
I think the answer depends on how “occasional” we’re talking. T he RAV4 (particularly in limited trim with the V6 ) is definitely a better daily, but if I had a regular need to tow anything as heavy as a track car I’d take the 4Runner for sure.

Towing frequency will probably be like 6x/year with a roughly 2,000lb car on a roughly 500lb two wheel dolly. I figure the RAV4 would be way better on gas and way more car-like handling than the 4Runner, while the tow-prep package V6 is rated for 3500lb , around 1,000lb more than what I’m looking to tow.

In that case I’d go with the RAV4 for sure. As you rightly point out, MUCH better road manners and handling and much better fuel economy.

Too high, but I’m going to watch and find out.
